First, let me start by saying the thought of having my son at his first Homecoming doesn't seem possible - where did the time go from when he was born to now?
A month before Homecoming I kept asking Zach if he had a date and he always said, "No Mom!" I actually wanted him to make a deal with Alexis (his ex-girlfriend) because they have been really good friends since they broke-up. Well, she ended up finding a date...so two weeks before Homecoming, Zach decided that he would ask Jody (his other really good friend down the street). Luckily she didn't have a date so they decided to go together so they wouldn't have to go alone. The best thing about having a boy at Homecoming is you don't have to spend a lot of time shopping for an outfit - literally I got his outfit one week before and in about 15 minutes without Zach - thank goodness for Kohls!
Monday before Homecoming - I ordered Zach's corsage. The funny part is that evening when I got home this was our conversation:
Zach: "Mom, did you buy the corsage?"
Me: "Yes I did Zach"
Zach: "Can I see it?"
Me: "No, I had to order it. Zach, do you even know what a corsage is?
Zach: "No"
Me: (as I laughing inside) "It's flowers that are attached to a small wrist band."
Zach: "How do you know it will fit her wrist?"
Me: (still laughing) "It's elastic"
Zach: "Oh! Don't tell anyone I asked." (so pretend you didn't read this)
How funny! He so adorable. Anyways, the night of Homecoming it was raining. I was totally bummed because I knew I wouldn't get great pictures indoors. It rained the entire evening...so I have very few pictures that look good. I was able to grab one quick shot outdoors of Zach and I'll post more later. Plus I have to tell you about the First Bradley HS Parade that Mason was in.
