George Crozier Fenton Sr., 95, of West Jefferson, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2009, in Madison House of London.
He was born Oct. 6, 1913, in Winchester, the son of the late Earl and Emma Fenton.
George was a retired manager for General Motors and a lifelong farmer.
He was a member of the General Motors Employees, a past member of the Humbolt Lodge No. 476 F&AM and a present member of the New England Lodge No. 4 F&AM.
Survivors include two sons, George C. “Jerry” (Patty) Fenton Jr. and David J. (Carmen) Fenton Sr.; five grandchildren, J. Scott (Peggy) Fenton, Perry J. (Heather) Fenton, David J. (Andrea) Fenton Jr., Cindy (Don) Daylong and Melissa (John) Grcic; 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Anna Mildred “Millie” McCracken Fenton; son, Larry and daughter-in-law, Polly Fenton; daughter-in-law, Judy Fenton; a brother, James Fenton.
Family and friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, July 26, in the RADER-McDONALD FUNERAL HOME, 1355 W. Main St., West Jefferson, where a Masonic Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 27, 2009, in the funeral home. Rev. Glade May will be officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in West Jefferson.
