Summer Break

This was the first official week of Summer Break! Every year my kids tend to disappear during the summer - they either stay with Barb or my Dad. This year they obviously want to be home more to play with their friends - which is great! However, the plan was changing a little bit...Zach is going to be 13 years old this summer and still is alittle afraid to stay home without an adult. This year, I told Zach that he had to stay with Mason until 9am and then Barb would come. At first, he kept reassuring himself that he would fine. I told him not to worry it was only an hour he would be alone with Mason. The first day, he was up bright and early waiting for me to leave. I reminded him of course that he should not answer the door, do not use the stove and do not go outside! So I'm off to work and I get a phone call and Zach says, "Mom, did you want me to wake up Mason?" I said, "No, you don't have too!" He got really quiet...I said, "well, did you want to wake him up?" I got a quick response of YES! I guess having Mason up made him feel better :) After just 1 full week of staying along - Zach says he's a pro!
