Home Sweet Home

Finally, after 6 days in New Orleans, I'm on my way home! I had to come down here for work because the property that is down here is recovery from several hurricanes that have hit this area (Katrina and the most resent Gustavo). The front door of this property has a revolving door for staff, so we were sent down here to help out and hopefully stabilize the staff. I have now worked 11 straight days and I'm exhausted. My main duty here was to due a lease audit, which means I have to go through 268 lease files to make sure everything matches in the file with the MRI system we use to keep track of this information. Let's just say it was a complete mess.

Anyways, Ally, Bob, Sean (he's a maintenance supervisor from SC) and I spent the very long days here. We have all been on "Bob's schedule" - it stinks that he gets to control our every move on the clock and off. After our long days of work, we wanted to do something fun, but Bob's idea of fun is going straight to the bar - I finally had to ask him to take me back to the hotel because I was tired of the bar scene. He said no...so where was I...at the bar.

I will say, one night this week, we went to Bourbon Street, where all the action is...or should I say where all the trash is? It's not what I expected, but interesting. This is definitely not a place for children, but surprisingly I saw kids. Hello...are parents that stupid? As we walked down the street, there are many strip and hustler bars. People said very inappropriate things while walking down the street. Let's just say, people aren't shy about asking for sex. Gross! We did however, find a fabulous restaurant called the Red Fish Grill - I took a chance an ordered there Red Fish and it melted in my mouth...I actually ate the whole thing. After dinner, Ally and I were determined to find a sweatshirt to take home, but of course, we Bob on our back telling us to hurry, so we didn't get much of a chance to shop. We didn't find one :(

Anyways, I look forward to being home with Don and the boys!
