from Disney and we are EXHAUSTED! On Sunday morning Jerry picked us up and took us to the airport...it actually was pretty busy for a Sunday. Zach was really nervous, anxious and excited and Mason was just excited to fly that I didn't need to worry about him. Once we got on the plane, Mason and Zach sat together and I was across the isle (by Zach). Right about take off I thought Zach was going to throw-up...the look on his face was priceless, but thankfully he did a great job and without anything leaving his mouth :)
We stayed at All Star Movies Resort - our rooms weren't ready when we got there, but we were all starving, so we grabbed some lunch with our dining plan (at first this was very confusing), but we quickly got the hand of it after a day or two. Once we got into our room, we went straight to the pool. After an hour or so, we decided to go to Downtown Disney and do some shopping and get some dinner at the T-Rex Restuarant (which was recommended), however, it wasn't the great and the prices were outrageous for what we got.
Day 1: Magic Kingdom
It was HOT! Yep, hot and humid. Our first character was Mary Poppins. Mason jumped right in line and got his autograph and picture, which was suprising because I didn't think he would want to see the girlie characters, but he did. The kids had very little patience and wanted to go straight to the rides, our first one was the Stitches Great Escape. After that we watch several parades, shows and even the Spectacular Show at night.
Day 2: Hollywood Studios (f.k.a. MGM Studios)
It was really HOT and HUMID. We went straight to the Tower of Terror - Mason, Olivia, Emily, Melissa, John and myself all waited in line...I sat by Emily and she was more scared of the holligrams then the actually dropping of the elevator. She made it through it and afterwards, Mason said that was the best. We then got a fast pass for the Aerosmith ride so we wouldn't have to wait in line. In the meantime, we all headed over to the HSM 3 Senior Year show where Mason was picked out of the crowd to join the cast and dance in a circle - too funny and cute! Afterwards, we went to ride the Aerosmith ride, which was AWESOME! Then back to the parade where I danced on the street with Frozone (from the Incredibles).
Day 3: Magical Kingdom
My first priority for the day was that I wanted to make sure I saw the daily 3pm parade, so we did some more rides and character visits. I love Tinkerbell, so we decided to wait in line for 75 minutes to see the 3 fairies. I was really excited...but I have to say I was very disappointed in Tink - she was NOT friendly at all and was very disappointing after waiting for so long to see her. We attempted to watch the fireworks, but did have a good view, so we headed back to the hotel.
Day 4: Animal Kingdom
Since we were a large party, we could make special reservations for a Safari Celebration Dinner. However, Disney screwed up on our reservation and we didn't get to go. We complained to the manager of the hotel and they offered us Hopper Passes and VIP seating for the Illumination and Fireworks at EPCOT. We decided that was a good idea since we weren't going to get the Celebration dinner. Since we weren't planning on going to EPCOT anyways, we thought it would be nice to at least see for a couple of hours since the Animal Kingdom closed at 6pm.
So once we arrived at Animal Kingdom we headed straight for the Safari - I truly enjoyed this, however, it was disappointing that the ride made it extremely difficult to get good pictures of the animals. The truck wouldn't stuck and the bumpy ride made it hard to focus the camera on the animals. Then we headed over the "Its Tough to be a Bug" which was extremely good and gross at the same time. Mason got an autograph from Flik from a Bug's Life, he was great and gave Mason a hard time. Then we headed over to the Jurassic Park ride, which on the way we say Pool, Tigger and Eeyore. The ride was great and a little rough, but Zach loved it - and considering he doesn't like rides, we were happy he found something he liked. Afterwards we had lunch and went to the Mt. Everest ride which was AWESOME. After another long day we headed back the hotel for much needed rest (and the pool for the kids), ate pizza and headed over to EPCOT. We didn't get to see a whole lot of EPCOT but the fireworks were great and worth going too.
Day 5 - home to Columbus! We got home about 11am and by 1pm I went straight to bed and slept until around 5:30pm, got up and ate dinner and then went back to bed at 9:30 and didn't get back up until 7:30am on Saturday.
Oh and did I mention, I took 766 pictures with my new lense :) and Mason had my little digi camera and took over 200 pictures. Can't wait to make my scrapbook!
